As promised in my post on the Neon Run. I wanted to give a quick tutorial on how to make your own running tutu or a tutu for any use, really. I just wrapped the elastic around myself and then took a few inches off the length around my waist. I make sure to sew back and forth a few times on the ends so as to make sure the elastic has no chance of falling apart.
We have a fun craft for you today: tutus! Lots of little girls twirl around in them, playing with their friends and wearing them to school. Adults wear them too, they have become popular for women to wear for running and walking events or as part of a Halloween costume. Happy Tutu Crafting! By TheGirlInspired. From TheHairBowCompany.
Great tutorial! Can't wait to make one for my Halloween costume!! Thanks for the instructions, I'm going to give it a try tomorrow! I'm making about 14 for the upcoming Komen race and I have some people who are 30" around and some who are 50" around. Just wondering if I would need more or less fabric.
How to make a no-sew tutu What you need: 12 yards of tulle ribbon scissors wood board with o-rings optional. Did you use this instructable in your classroom? Add a Teacher Note to share how you incorporated it into your lesson. In order to construct a no-sew tutu, you must start by pre-cutting your tulle fabric into strips twice the length that you want your tutu. The width is less important but somewhere around 10 inches is good.
